Tania Morris

Wife of Varden Morris

Between my twenties and late forties, my weight ballooned gradually from 140lbs to 200lbs. It wasn’t until my health start deteriorating that the effects of my weight gain were evident. This revelation required me to change my mindset to eating and exercising for health and not weight loss. Subsequently, I lost 55lbs within six months. I am healthier and enjoying my renewed lifestyle and intend to stick with it.

Makeda Morris

Daughter of Varden Morris

I had never been a particularly health-conscious child; my defining features were my “chubby cheeks.” Slowly but surely, I went from 120lbs to 150lbs by the time I finished high school. Increased weight demotivated me and lowered my self-esteem; I didn’t want to take photos anymore or wear sleeveless shirts.

Despite this, I still didn’t want to exercise. I would eat, gain weight, get depressed and then eat more in the same never-ending cycle. Then my mom and dad convinced (read forced) me to go and walk. These walks, combined with taking public transit to and from school, began my weight loss journey. Since then, many things have changed, including my attitude towards health and wellness. I have lost 35lbs and continue to improve myself both mentally and physically.
