We don't have time to lose. We must return to what is natural and obey nature's timing.

Nature has Its Unique Schedule. Wait for It!

For everything there is a season, a time and place for every activity under heaven.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 NLT

Nowadays, we like to do things according to our own schedule. We do not like to wait around for anyone or anything. After all, our time is precious and should be respected. As a result, we have drifted away from nature’s schedule. We have abandoned what is natural, artificially producing and modifying foods to grow faster and bigger. To lose weight, we must let go of our desire to operate on “our time” and start waiting on nature’s timing.

Please note that the post on timely changes is a prerequisite to reading this one. If you have not read it, please do so before continuing.

A Time to Give Birth

After a woman gets pregnant, it naturally takes about nine months for her to give birth to a fully developed baby. The Almighty God sets this time based on His wisdom and just as how He sets the timing for everything else in nature.

A Time to Fly

And yes, wild turkey fly.

When I told my daughter that turkey fly, she was surprised. I had to find a video on YouTube to convince her because all she knew were those produced from untimely farming. No different from the untimely farming of chickens that are also unable to fly. Based on my research, the average lifespan of a wild turkey is 3 – 5 years, and the oldest known one lived to at least 13 years. However, domestically farmed turkey live for only a few months before consumption.

The reality of unnatural farming.

Unlike wild turkey, domestically farmed turkey live for only a few months before consumption. Each year, about two turkeys are pardoned by the United States president, allowing them to escape the Thanksgiving dinner table. However, they usually die after roughly four months. Why? Well, they were bred, in an untimely manner, for food. Consequently, they weigh more than is natural and cannot survive.

You know what they say.

You are what you eat!

Unnatural farming is not only related to turkey but also every other domestically bred animal on our plates. These animals are likely fed unnaturally grown plant products along with growth hormones, often in very tiny spaces, which means less activity and rapid weight gain.

Now, when we consume the flesh of these animals, we see our children maturing faster than natural. Young girls’ breasts develop faster, and they start their menstrual cycle earlier. We begin to take on the features of the animals that cannot do what should be natural. Those birds cannot fly, and we cannot walk or run any significant distance that we should naturally be able to do.

An Eagle Among Chickens

A Short Story
Unlike the eagle in the chicken coop, we need to ensure we do what is natural to achieve the best out of life.

Once upon a time, an egg from an eagle’s nest that rolled into a chicken’s coop. Although it appeared bigger than the other eggs, the chicken decided to keep it anyway. It hatched in time with the other eggs, and out came the eagle among the chickens. As they grew up together, the eagle would look at the other eagles in the sky and say, “I believe I can fly like those eagles.” The chickens would say to it, “We are chickens, and we do not fly like eagles. In the coop is where we spend our time.” Each day the eagle would say the same thing, and it got back the same answer. Eventually, the day came when it died as a chicken without attempting to fly.

The point is simple.

If we live among and listen to chickens, our dreams will die with us. We will not be able to do what we are capable of doing. Very few of us who turn to a natural diet can keep up with our African brothers and sisters in a marathon. These brothers and sisters eat naturally grown food, enabling them to run faster and longer than the average person outside their region.

Wild chicken tastes good!

I grew up eating free-range chicken and other animals in Jamaica. Then, around the time of becoming an adult, things started changing. We could get imported meats in the supermarket for significantly less than the local ones, causing the smaller local farmers to struggle in their survival to compete. More established farmers then started investing in farming to expedite the growth of animals. Soon after, we started seeing obesity like never before, which is a consequence of new health challenges.

Many people have health challenges eating meat. However, some wouldn’t have had these challenges if the animals were naturally and timely grown. The chickens I ate as a kid fed on plants and insects in the wild. Yes, that is what they are supposed to eat in the natural environment for timely development. When I landed in Canada as an adult and saw a chicken leg on my plate, I was shocked. I had to ask if it was a turkey leg. With all the Caribbean spices that my mother used to cook it, I got a second shock. It was the worst tasting chicken I had in my life. I then understood why tourists go crazy over the food in Jamaica.

Should we become vegetarians?

Vegetables are a must when we a returning to the natural way of things. They help us stay strong and healthy.

Many people decide to become vegetarian because of the issues associated with these untimely farmed products. Everything, however, needs careful review before making changes. Even plant farming is now an issue in some cases. We are genetically modifying plants to expedite production, among other things. I have heard of a vegetarian family that got hit by several diseases common to meat-eaters. They eat processed plant products as opposed to fresh ones and have no idea about the additives. We can lose our natural taste for foods and turn to processed vegetables with additives that taste like meat. We do not realise that these additives make the products worse than meat, where our health is concerned.

The problem with time is that we have none.

Untimely cultivation is one of the causes, if not the root cause, of our health problems. We no longer wait on nature’s timing because we want everything fast, including weight loss. The faster we can get things done, the less money it will cost us initially, but at the expense of our health. We spend our salary before getting paid by using money that belongs to the bank, credit card. Oftentimes, we live in the moment and worry about the bills later, just as we compromise our health. We no longer have the time or money to afford natural food for cooking. It’s easier to take something out of the refrigerator that will be ready in less than 5 minutes in the microwave. Then we can move on to do better things with our time and worry about our health and the health of our loved ones later.
